Special Places
In your hometown, what is the most special place in your mind? It can be a scenic spot, a historical site, a family-gathering place, and so on. This place can be where you like it very much, where you have good or bad memories, or where you want to visit again. Share your special places with your friends, and create your own "special place" exhibit during the camp.
Stage 1: before the camp (on-line)
Make Self-introduction online and exchange information before the trip. Pack your special thing in advance to share.
- Please prepare something special from your special place in local community before the trip.
- The special place can be a scenic spot, a historical site, a family-gathering place, and so on.
- You can bring photos, books, pictures, toys, or anything that is related to this special place. For example, a video clip, a souvenir, an interview tape of your beloved one, a store flyer, clothes, etc.
- If you have no idea what to take with you, try to answer the following questions, and these can help you select your special things.
- Why do you want to choose this place?
- What's special about this place? Is it because of some persons? Some episodes? The atmosphere? Or some other reasons?
Stage 2: during the camp (face-to-face)
Share your special thing with your partners and collaborate with them to create your own "Special Place" Exhibit or Project during the camp.
- There will be a Show & Tell period for what you have prepared for your special place.
- After sharing with your partners, a group discussion will be done to contribute a bigger topic which can cover all the sharings of your group.
- You will present your group exhibit in the presentation time last day. You can present in songs, stories, posters, and so on.
Stage 3: after the camp (on-line)
Continue to communicate online for further contact. Celebrate the success of this camp to build up more human network.
